James W. Malone

The main roll of government is public safety, there is no higher priority

  An attorney and resident of Sayville, Jim Malone was born in Islip at Southside Hospital and is a lifelong resident of Suffolk County.  He currently serves in the New York State Supreme Court as Principle Law Clerk to the Honorable William J. Condon.  As Justice Condon’s Principle Law Clerk, Jim is legal advisor to the Court as it adjudicates Felony matters which include: Murder; Manslaughter, Drug Crimes, Burglaries: Larcenies,  Robberies, Assault Crimes; Weapons Crimes, Domestic Violence Crimes, and Felony Violations of Probation.

Prior to serving in the Supreme Court, Jim served as Senior Deputy County Clerk and Director of Finance to our Suffolk County Clerk, the Honorable Judith A. Pascale.  Jim has also served as Official Examiner of Title at the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office and has served in elected office as a Town Councilman.

Before serving with our Suffolk County Clerk, Jim served as a Public Defender in Central Islip, Riverhead, and the Eastern Five Towns of Suffolk County.  Prior to earning his law degree, Jim served as a United States Treasury Bond Trader with Citicorp’s North American Investment Bank in New York City for nearly ten years.

Jim was found Qualified by the Suffolk County Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee and his experience and dedication to public service will serve our community with great distinction.
